DSTV Favorites not saving

Hi, I had all my favorite channels saved under Favorite Channels but after load shedding yesterday, there are no favorites saved. When I try to save them again, it just doesn't do anything, it won't save. I have tried resitting my decoder but it still won't save any favorites.
Is the problem with the decoder or my smart card? I have removed the smart card a few times but it also didn't make a difference
 
I had the same problem on a sd decoder. Hold down the p+ and P- keys for ten seconds after the reboot of the decoder it does a software reset after that everything went back to normal.

Hi, with after reboot do you mean as soon as it starts scanning for channels or after? The P+ and P- is one key which can be pressed at the top for + and the bottom for -. I'm not quite sure if I'm doing it right by pressing top and bottom at the same time, the green light on the remote doesn't come on when you press it like that but does stay on if you either press the top or bottom for 10 seconds?
 
Yes that is what i did however i am sure it depends what model of decoder it is. There is also blogs on the dstv forum website
