So im hoping this is the right forum - i upgraded my dstv single view to the HD PVR 2 yday....and have run into an issue. While apparently i have all the other PVR functionality (pause, rewind etc) for some reason im not able to record. Im following all the processes as guided but when i try to view my recorded programs on my playlist they dont appear. They instead appear on the scheduled recordings list and cannot be played.

Is it a problem with the installation or the device...has anyone had the same or knows how to deal with it..

They will appear on the scheduled list for 2 reasons, either they are still to happen or they have failed. If they have failed they will have a yellow triangle with a reason when you push info.
How is your setup, a twin LNB with 2 cables into the PVR?

Just to clarify:

Previously before the software upgrade you went to the list via the menu. Now you need to press the red button to view your recodings. If you use the normal recodings menu it takes you to the DSTV on demand menu. The booklet might not be updated yet. Press the red button of the five above the play/forward/rewind buttons

Thanks ya all as it turns out one of the cables (the tuner 2) was not sending thru signal....it got scorched by the geyser pipes in the ceiling but fixed now

The red button has always worked as a shortcut, going via the TV guide was the long way

I only found that out after the software upgrade :o I used the normal way but could not get my recordings only DSTV on demand. Then the wife said "Press the red button" - I've been sold since :o

Is normal SD content better on HDMI cable on the hd pvr 2p compared to the old models running on RCA cable?

ooo. quick question. is dstv on demand on whatever you call it where you can select videos from the list menu, working with the -2p decoder yet? I cant find anything on the net...

HD PVR 2 Scheduled/Series Recordings

Hi All,

Hoping this is the right place for this - if not I do apologise.

I just got myself the HD PVR 2, one oddity I've found is that I can't seem to view/edit/delete recurring scheduled recordings.

So I setup a scheduled recording to test, that occurs on weekdays @ 16:00. The recording works 100% but I have no idea how to view/edit/remove this recording.

Thanks,
Yas

Another related question.

If I have dstv compact, and i get an hd pvr, will it be beneficial? i have a single lnb on the dish. Will the pvr functionality work or is it just a waste. i know the hd part won't work. The reason i ask, is there is a cellphone contract i would like to get, and it comes with a hd pvr, not sure if i should keep it or sell it. Thanks

PVR functions will work, just use a splitter. Remember you can only do things in one polarisation at a time, so when watching in the V you can only record in the V.
