I'm getting heartbeat issues from my primary Explora and secondary 2P HD. I've replaced the cables and checked the connection RF to RF and the associated settings with that setup. The strange thing is that it seems to happen more often when the Explora is on a sports channel.

I've been going through settings and is the Network settings on the Explora user band 1, 2, 3 and the 2Ps LNB Lo, Hi, Switch have to be the same?

Don't mess with the network setting unless you're having a signal issue. The easiest way to diagnose is a hearbeat problem is to run a single piece of cable between the two decoders and see if the problem persists. Provided you have a long enough piece of course.

Also you could watch the xtra view info screen on the secondary decoder for a while and see if it flashes a "unknown communication" message every now and then. If it does call MC, they can clear it for you.

Ok thanks so the network settings can be different?

Yes. The network settings have no bearing on the heartbeat signal unless the primary decoder has been without a signal for an extending period as a result.
