DSTV Horisontal and Vertical Feed

Do anyone know what channels is on horisontal feed?

I know it is channels

54
67
72
77

but I think channel 41 has also moved recently... :rolleyes:
 
That's exactly the channels i 've had problems with.Rescan don't work.

No signal..or "there is a problem connecting to this service"

What do i have to do to solve this..."horisontal" problem

Are you using a PVR? If you are then you need a new twin LNB for your dish and you need to run another cable to your dish from your PVR. If you are using a normal dstv decoder then there must be something wrong with your LNB (maybe ancient non Universal LNB) or dish alignment.
 
I have dual view and only one lnb at my dish.

Have 2 tvs and watch everything on both with a few exceptions.

Vertical - Everything except those odd 5 channels
Horisontal - Thos odd 5 channels.

So if TV 1 is on vertical I can only watch vertical channels. And via versa.

Never had an issue till they took channel 41 from vertical to horisontal. :(

DSTV still promise me - I can't watch 2 different channels with A SINGLE LNB. But I do. :rolleyes: :p

Normal decoder,lnb is about 1y old.

Currently my signal quality = 95% and strenght 70%

...and it's my 100th post...took me 11 months.

I'm pretty sure multichoice used to advertise that on dual view decoders with single LNB, TV1 controls the polarisation of the LNB. So TV2 always has to watch channels on same polarisation as TV1.

On the PVR on the other hand you have to have a dual lnb to watch any horizontal channel. I think they decided this was best because of the 3rd tuner recording programs would not be able to record if TV1 was on a channel with the wrong polarisation to the channel that must recorded.

Do you have only one LNB with one connector??
Then I suppose you are using a cable splitter arrangement ...
Tell me which channel (name) and I'll tell you whether H or V.
SABC1/2/3 are on Vertical.

Congrats on the 100th post. If a rescan doesn't fix your problems then you must have defective LNB or possibly DSTV decoder. Probably best to call an installer to have a look.

Thanks...might be defective decoder.My little one spilled some cooldrink over it once,not long ago.Had to disconnect it for about 2 hours.Will try the neighbour's tomorrow.
 
41 definitely moved recently, as well as C&I ... channel 69 I think?

Yeah, I meant that C&I is on, and not that it moved (I didn't see it in your original list)
 
I was having trouble getting Animal Planet, Fashion TV, C&I and a few others not sure if they are vertical or horizontal, one of the two. Took the decoder in and they told me that the alignment of the dish was probably slightly off. called in some technicians and they sorted it out. So that might be your problem
