DSTV Installation

Hi All

I'm going to be buying a dstv decoder (on special from game) for R400
I have a dish already setup, but there is no cable from the dish to the decoder.

What sort or type of cable should i get?

RF Cable... like a normal TV aerial type

You need normal coax aerial cable, game should have some, normally made by Ellies.

You will also need two f-connectors.

If you in JHB try getting your cable and connectors from this guy, its quite cheap.

Some googling came back with RG6 cable, thicker cable the better - thinner very bad.
RG11 for long distances.

RG11... damn, how big is your house.

RG6 will be sufficient for most installations. RG11 is used in communal installations... or when the dish is more than a hundred meters away.
