In front of a computer...
First, let's get the obvious out of the way -

1. Netflix is great, we use it for movies, etc.
2. First problem, no sport and the season approaches...
3. Second problem, the SO wants to view stuff that is not easily available on demand via various internet services
4. Third problem, the SO wants something that 'just works' with no fiddling around, and buffering and "all that bother"

Now that that is out of the way :D

Need the following setup:

[-]Three [/-]Two rooms

Requirements:

1. Ability to view and playback (recorded/archived) the same HD content on 2 of the TV's (at the same time)
2. Ability to watch a separate channel on the 2nd TV
[-]3. Ability to view SD content on 3rd TV[/-]

Based on the above, I'm presuming that I will need at least the following:
- 2 x HD PVR Decoder (1 x R2000 + 1 x R999 version; or 2 x R999 version)
[-] - 1 x SD Decoder (R399)[/-]
- Satellite Dish with dual LNB
- Splitter boxes, heartbeat cable, etc

Who can recommend an installer in Cape Town (Northern/Southern suburbs) who knows what they are doing and will do the work at a fair price (and not try to con me on cable costs, etc)

Input and feedback appreciated.
Recommendation of good installer highly appreciated.

Thanks

Edit: Requirements changed hence the strikeouts.

You need an HD PVR or Explora decoder to be your main decoder... Then get a SD PVR added to the install. They don't sell the SD PVR anymore so you need to get a second hand one.

That would enable you to have one independent HD viewing point and two independent SD viewing points.

If you would like to have HD content on the second or third TV. Then you need to get a HDMi splitter and run a HD cable to the second or third TV from the main decoder. Obviously this would be the same content being viewed on the main decoder.

There are many different installs maybe consult with an installer for further info.

I used Jevan from Total Vision for my extra view installation. Reasonable price and was very happy with the work. I will PM you his contact details.
