Saw a add last night promoting Mobile TV on DSTV. They showed people watching the games on their phone , now I have been following the TV Mobile industry keenly since the last World Cup when it was first launched into the test phase and have seen nothing yet , the DSTVmobile.co.za website says little about going live ? Does anyone have any info on this ? I am certain the ad referred to mobile TV ie TV via DBVH

The fine prints reads that it is available in Nigeria, Kenya and some other African countries. SA not included.

its still in the free test phase, and if im not mistaken only certain areas, (soweto being one of them) and so far only MTN subscribers qualify, you would neet to get the dvb simcard and have to compatible simcard
 
Mobile TV application awarded to E.tv; Multichoice Africa is disqualified

Mobile TV application awarded to e.tv
The Council of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) after deliberation, announced the results of the applications on the licensing of Mobile TV on Friday 21 May 2010.
By the deadline of 7 May 2010, ICASA had received the following applications:
Mobile TV Consortium
Super 5 Media Pty Ltd
Multichoice Africa
e.tv

Having reviewed the applications in line with the regulations, which stated that only entities with broadcasting service licences were eligible to apply for the available spectrum capacity to provide Mobile TV services, it arrived at the following conclusions:

Mobile TV Consortium is disqualified on the basis that they do not hold any broadcasting service licence:twisted:
Super 5 Media Pty Ltd is disqualified as they failed to submit the required number of copies that are permanently bound :p
Multichoice Africa is disqualified for late submission of the application :D
e.tv's application is accepted, as it complied with the preliminary requirements :wtf:

The Authority will continue with the next step as prescribed in the Invitation to apply (ITA) and will also make a determination on the licensing of the remaining capacity in the first Mobile TV multiplex.

ETV to get Mobile tv rights?!! What next?!!
Get ready for Wrestling shows, B grade movie repeats (more Chuck Norris! lol) and lots of dumb local content (read: cheap shows).

at the end those arent the credits thos are the names of the people killed by chuck during the filiming of the episode :D
