DSTV nightmare

Hi all,

Today my DSTV signal went for a ball of ****, picture all broken up, rolling, patches of colour yet my signal strengh was/is 82% and signal quality is at 87%.

Phone the DSTV help line,.. no luck, guy does not even know what coax is any way they could not help. Now I have not got any picture.

Any suggestions?

Have you done a rescan? Press: Menu->1->3

soundsblike your lnb could be damaged or moved slightly out of alighnment. signal quality should be 100%

Happened to me while watching lost I was so pissed! the screen went green. I unplugged then plugged at the back then it worked

Got a picture again, but looks scrambled.............like a jigsaw out of order, just flashing colours,........but what I don't understand is that the "banner" at bottom of screen is ok ( ch number, time, program ), that is perfect

I think the menus are rendered by the decoder, so it must be the dish or reception component.

You're decoder is probably fooked if you have good signal strength & quality unless you chucked some beans out the window last night and now have a beanstalk obstructing the dish
