Howdy!

I am going to be as brief as possible:

My current situation:
1 x dish
1 x LNB
1 x dstv decoder (Model: ?DSD910) I am not at home currently.
2 x people who watch dstv (Of which I am neither)

Problem:
People to channel ratio out of sync! = Remote wars and general discontent!

Proposed solution:
Being able to watch one channel in the TV room and a different channel in the bedroom.

Please can someone either explain or point me to an easy explaination as to what I will require in order to achieve some form of peace in my household! What do I need (2 x XXX decoders, 2 x XXX dishes etc.) and what will the monthly cost be? Cost of the capital outlay?

Thanks,
DSTVNOOB

Cheapest option, get 2x 1110 decoders (R500 each), get a twin LNB (R300), extra cable from dish to 2nd decoder

Monthly subs will increase by R60

2x R500 hey, you need 1110 decoders, your older one wont work with Xtraview. Either 1110 or go the PVR route but then you looking at R3500+

Oooops! My bad!

If I went PVR, would I need a SV/HD PVR, a 1110 and the twin LNB?

 It rather seems you need three channels? Then you would require a Dual view on one of the decoders.

XtraView takes care of the second and in some cases, third viewing environment at no additional subscription fee to what you currently pay for on the DualView decoder or SD PVR.

HD PVR + 1110 with Xtraview enabled plus free installation - about R350 a month to Teljoy and an extra R60 on your DSTV sub.

Bleh, I just want two different channels on two different Tellys (at the same time that is). I thought with the PVR I could do the whole recording thing as a bonus.

@MH: Now there is an option. Tks! :)

Again see options table here! I will have to source an SD decoder for peace of mind in my extended family. 3times views + 3times recordings at once.
