DSTV now crashes browser

I have a HP microserver which I bought many years ago. It's been serving me very well over many years and over the last 4 or 5 years that I've had it I've upgraded the RAM to 8GB and replaced the HDD with a SSD. I should mention I have a GT520 card in.

I've always noticed that my DSTV streaming is not as smooth as I would want it to be, but thought that was due to my 4mb adsl. I then discovered that DSTV streaming works perfectly on my laptop. So decided to give the microserver a format and in the process replaced windows 10 with windows 7.

However, now DSTV streaming causes Chrome to play the sound but no video (just black block) and then the browser crashes. Similar symptoms on other browsers.

Where do I start to figure out what's going on? Any ideas? I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot this. Codec issue maybe? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics card drivers yesterday but no success. Keep in mind I'm overly technical...

Edit: I should mention that all other streaming works perfectly like Netflix and Youtube.

I'd take out the graphics card first and test.

Is it network cable or wifi? Test accordingly.

Can't be codecs. I use Edge browser for DSTV Now only.

ISP?

What does Task Manager show on usage and performance?

Does Dstv Now need Java and Flash?

I'm running a Core2Duo, 4GB RAM, HDD and GT630. 4Mbps uncapped ADSL.

Also having problems with my micro server and dstv now. Seems like the cpu can't handle it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I cant use your first one though, only have a TV with HDMI so need the gfx card to output video. Will need to get a normal vga monitor to test that which I dont have.

Will try with network cable, not sure what the theory is behind this though? The wifi is working very well, no issues with that.

Cant be ISP related, as it works on another laptop on the same wifi.

Installed the latest Firefox now and its working. Unlike my keyboards apostrophe key.

Thought I tried Firefox before, but maybe not. Oh well, can at least watch sports now.
