So during the Rugby World Cup 2011 I subscribed on supersport.com with my parents' smartcard number to be able to stream the rugby live. It worked great. After the RWC they cancelled their DSTV Premium subscription, but the access details still worked on supersport.com, so I just kept on watching rugby there.

I now realized that the same access details also work for DSTV on demand, and that I can watch all the series free from the internet as well... even though the access details are NOT linked to a DSTV premium account... in other words I'm watching free DSTV.

As per the DSTV on demand website: "DStv On Demand is a value added service available free to all DStv Premium subscribers with a PVR subscription" - so I guess what I'm doing is strictly wrong, even though I never "hacked" anything, Im abusing a broken system. So I think my concience is bugging me a bit.

Someone told me a while ago that DSTV leaves it like that on purpose so that they can draw you in to buy their full service, but I'm really not so sure about that. So I would like to post this question on the forums. Does anybody here know where DSTV stands with regards to cases like this? Oficially?

I can watch it free too but it's crap so why bother?

Lots of threads about this. Sure the dstv fairies will pass this info on.

Old news. The quality is pathetic. You are wasting your bandwidth - well, unless you are on uncapped and even then there is that quality issue. At 10 Rand a gig, I could not be bothered.
