Hi

I have a standard old dstv decoder in the lounge and a tv in the room also connected to the decoder. Both tvs connect via the RF Out port on the decoder with a splitter.

Here is what i want to do but not sure how & what i need?

Have HD in both the lounge and the room (im happy to watch whats on the lounge tv in the room)

thanks

You'd need to buy two HD decoders or one and split the hdmi signal to the room.
You'd not be able to do it with a standard decoder

You'll need a dual lnb for the HD decoder if you going single view but if you go for the two decoders with xtraview then a splitter is required as well. You mentioned HD for both rooms which means that if you're going with one decoder you'll need an hdmi splitter plus a long hdmi cable to the room or hdmi to network cable adapters. With two decoders you simply need one situated in each room.

thanks
if i have two hd decoders what other costs other than the dstv std subscription?I think xtraview is R75 extra.

thanks for your help sl1
If i have 2 x hd decoders does that mean i can watch a different channel in the lounge and room?

No problem. Yes, that's what the xtraview subs cover including pvr functionality/access.
