Please can anyone help. I tried posting to the dstv support forum but they take ages to approv your registration and as of now i still cannot post on the support site.

My problem is that my dstv channels numbers is showing in the tv guide but the description of what is on the channels is gone.

The second problem is after i recorded a movie on my PVR it plays for a while then freezes, i need to go back out and into it again for it to work just so it freezes again, the pvr is not full. I have the singhle view decoder.

Does anyone know what i possibly can do to fix it ?

channel guide sounds like lnb issue try swapping them and see if it works, freezing while playing sounds like as drifter said Hdd issue

Update software maybe?

Also do a rescan of channels to refresh the list?

But yes as mentioned, could be the LNB and the PVR's harddrive.

Also, have you restarted the decorder

Thank you for all the replies, i had to fiddle with all the coaxial plugs at the back, at the end what solved the problem i think as i re stripped the wires so many times not sure exactly what fixed it the re-stripping or it was a rubber "o-Ring" that was missing in one of those coaxial connectors going into the distribution box thats the last thing i did and after that , all sorted now thanks :D

The freezing i have not tried to check again but i assume if it is a HDD problem the fix i have just done won't fix the freezing problem.

Will they replace the HDD free of charge or could i buy an internal harddisk from a pc store and replace it myself ?

Multichoice don't repair, they swap out, if you don't have their insurance story they charge between 300-600 bucks to swap it ,

replace your self i'm not sure, you will have to get the partitions right but honestly more trouble and expense then their swap out costs
