HI

Please can somebody advise me about this set up.

I have the HD PVR 2P,The SD PVR and TOP TV.I want to link the two DSTV decoders up so I can use Xtraview and I would also like To have The TOP TV channel on the RF cable going to the TV2 Of The SD PVR.

This Is How I Want To Set It Up

The Top TV RF OUT into The DSTV HD PVR RF In
Then The DSTV HD PVR RF OUT to THE SD PVR RF IN (For The Heartbeat signal and the TOP Tv.)
Then The SD PVR RF Out To TV2 With a Tv Link

HD PVR
The HD PVR TV In the lounge (HDMI)
Composite (DVD Recorder)

SD PVR (In BedRoom)
Composite

SD PVR TV2 (KIDS ROOM)
RF (Top TV,DSTV HD PVR CHANNEL,SD PVR TV 1/2)

To control the TOP TV STB I will use A Remote Blaster.

Can anybody Please tell me If this set up will work,Any changes that will be needed,Or any advice or better ways of setting the system up,

One last thing the xtraview manual on the DSTV website shows,That when the SD PVR and HD Pvr are connected for xtraview,They USE THE RF OUT PORTS OF BOTH THE DECODERS AND USE A SPLITTER TO SPLIT THE SIGNAL TO TV2,What type of splitter is this and will it allow the TV Link to Fuction including the HB signal. Can you also please tell me which is the best Brand when choosing a 2in 4 out multiswitch,How much it will cost and where to Bye it.

Thanks For All The Help, know it is a lot i am asking for but i need to install this and get over and done with:D

2x4 multiswitch around R250, but you need to decide where to put it. If it goes in the lounge then you'll have 2 extra cables running to the bedroom. Remember it gets power from the decoders so is best not too far from a decoder. Brands: Labgear, Samsat & Spaun are all reliable, get from Space TV, Sats-R-Us etc, even places like Hi-Fi Corp are selling them now

That setup should work, just check up on whether the SDPVR can use RF in for heartbeat, HDPVR can use either but I seem to remember the SDPVR being only able to use one of the ports, I may be wrong though

Smurf is right... the SD PVR communication port can only be set to RF out, but we have successfully linked the heartbeat to the RF in of the SD many times (there was a couple of occasions where it did not work). Your setup should work the way you want to do it, Tremayn.

Thanks For The Info Guys
You see that is the problem In the Xtraview guide it reads that the HB can only be used on the SD PVR rf out so if i need to use the RF out what type of spliiter can be used that will allow the TV Link And The HB To Work.

SD PVR RF OUT TO SPLITTER THEN ONE PORT ON SPLITTER TO TV LINK SECOND PORT TO HD PVR (RF OUT) What type of splitter will I need to bye.
