DSTV PVR record error

For two days now, I have been unable to record with my PVR. As soon as I start a recording, it immediately pops up the yellow recording error icon and I can't find out why. It says tuning to the relevant channel should tell me why there is an error but I see nothing. There is space available so what could be causing this?

I think it is probably signal related... A properly aligned dish (done with proper equipment) and a quality multiswitch might solve the problem. You are not using a SatCR LNB, are you?

Also check the Mnet has not disabled it on your sim. I had to re-enable HD, recording, and playback at Mnet as someone there turned it off.

Had a similar problem Friday. Checked the signal from the dish. No problem. Checked the signal after the multiswitch. Quality way down. Changed the budget multiswitch to a proper one. Problem solved. Signal level and quality is very important and should be checked with a proper instrumentation during installation.
