So I have some questions, I have DSTV Premium already and the downfall is that it is only single view.
What I need is to have two more TV’s hooked up independently to DSTV, i.e. be able to watch two different DSTV channels on the two different TV’s.

• Now, I somebody told me that I can hook up one TV, by buying a separate decoder and using ExtraView which is R120 more on my account. He says that the all the channels that are on the premium plan we are on will be available. Is that true?

• Secondly, he says he will be able to do the above for R1000, labour and cabling included. Is it worth it?

• Lastly is there any alternate option which will incorporate all three TVs in the method described in the first paragraph? (not bullet point)

Thanks,
X

1. Yes. I believe it's R65 extra on your account and not R120.
2. +-R1000 sounds about right depending on the distance between the tv's and lenghts of cabling. Definitely worth it.
3. They installer can add a splitter box so that tv3 can watch what tv1 or tv2 is watching. Unfortunately only two tv's can watch independently with Extraview. The 3rd will have to watch the same as tv1 or tv2.

Have a look at DSTV website or the link for more info http://care.dstv.com/main.aspx?ID=1711#
Hope this helps.

Almost forgot. If you had or could get your hands on a old SD PVR decoder and extraview decoder you can connect 3 tv's on one Dstv premium subscription + R65 access fee x 2.
Each one of the 3 tv's will be able to watch independently any channel they wanted.
Unfortunatly Dstv does not sell SD PVR decoder any more.

Its still R65 x 1, no matter which combination you have
The SDPVR can only be paired up with a HDPVR

Also note that your current decoder can only be used for Xtraview if its a 1110 or 1131

Thanks, but I have one more question. The information is hard to find on the MultiChoice website.
If I were to upgrade to HD PVR and then ExtraView would there be any additional charges besides the R65 for ExtraView?, on top of the subscription?

Nope, it's your subscription + R65, that R65 includes Xtraview & PVR functionality.
They have had issues with billing where the R65 was charged twice so keep an eye on your account for the first couple months
