Hi there.

We started to notice at the beginning of the winter that our TV does not want to communicate with the decoder. Later in the day it works fine. With the cold of the past couple of days it does not want to work in the mornings and later at night.
By not working I mean that is does not change channels, change volume or nothing. When taking the same remote and standing in front of the decoder, it changes what we want to change for TV2. The remote for TV2, after being set to TV2, also does not work. I have therefor ruled out the remote control as the bad link. What s interesting is that it seems that temperature has an effect since it is the mornings and late nights that it does not want to work? When I stand in front of TV2 with the remote control about 2cm from the IR eye and pressing buttons on the remote control, I can clearly see the red light on the IR eye going on and off as I press some buttons.

Do you have any suggestions, please?

Which decoder is this? If the SDPVR, then the RF circuit on the decoder is going and a known thing to happen with the SDPVR which is no longer supported.

My parents have the same identical complaint with the DSD1131 decoder... hmmm..... something to investigate...

Check which lights you have some cfl globes interfere, i had the same problem and i changed to LED problem was fixed.

Hi there.
We have the old SD PVR. Our lights did not changed since we have moved in about 10 years ago. I will check again early tomorrow morning after switching off all the lights. I just remember that even at 08:30 this morning with all lights switched off, the remote did not want to do its thing.
This is nogal frustrating. Are there any other ways to beat this except for buying a Explora?

The SDPVR heat issue is due to hardware failure, so there is no soft fix for it.

I've always had issues with my SD dual view PVR the tv2 remote.

main menu is different/ channels disappear (picture & sound) - requiring a reboot

if you watching a movie and switch back to a live channel - that channels picture is gone - only sound. I then have to select another channel - which works then switch back to the channel I want and now it has a picture all of a sudden.
