Hi, my father has a HD PVR 2 P decoder purchased in January 2013.
It came with the remote control (marked A4 at the back) pictured below:

The EXIT key no longer works reliably. I opened up the remote and found the conductive surface on the rubber mat below this key was almost completely worn away. Is there any way to repair this?

Some time ago, my brother gave him this universal remote:

This remote does not seem to be able to control the decoder at all. I did try the TV1, TV2 and UNIVERSAL modes.
Is there any way this remote could be configured to control his decoder?

You did sync the new remote to the decoder ? Think you hold in shift-TV1 for a few secs..

No, we didn't know about that. We didn't receive a user manual with the universal remote.

There are 2 types of these replacement remotes. One for HD PVR and one for SD PVR. They are not interchangeable, so that may also be the issue

I got my replacement HD PVR2P A4 remote from HD Cabling in Cresta - R159 (I'm sure they can also post)
