How much can one expect to pay for someone to put up a satelite dish? Does one have to go buy it seperate or it normally all costs included?

You're prob looking about R1600 all told I think.... maybe R2000 if you get a SatCR LNB.

These sites below will give you an indication of pricing.

Just make sure to use DSTV accredited installers otherwise you might get ripped off(like I was) and make sure that there is no "hidden costs" that might increase the price(like paying extra for the cable).

the quality has gone down alot, however they ( multi choice ) still manage to justify the price increases ....

you could also decide not to get dstv because its mostly a load of crap :P

I AGREE here is some advice. /take the almost R500 per month you are going to pay and invest it. DSTV shows 90% shyte and to pay that money for the remaining 10% is just stupid. 87 channels of the worst crap pay tv has to offer. I made the mistake of paying a year upfront when i got DSTV. almost R6000 for utter crap. its a rip off:mad:

Don't DSTV give discount for taking in full per year and paying upfront?
It's R469.00 x 12 mths = R5628.

Its still R5628 too much!

Was watching a few programs on Discovery today - the date on most of them was for 2006! They are way behind the times.

Maybe you should rather read the DSTV Rant Thread before you decide on DSTV!!

Dammit people, its not for me as I said, its for my duplex I'm renting out. And if I use it at home it will be for the R200 a year option cause our SABC and ETV signal is not the best (in a hollow).

Got my Dish and decoder from Game for R1000. They gave a voucher and contacted a guy to come install it.
I only have the Easyview R200 per year deal.

Yes, Game gave me a voucher to "pay" the installer dude.
I only paid R1000.
