Question on behalf of someone, is a decoder linked to an account or only the smartcard?

Friends got a divorce, she go the decoder and smartcard, but account is still in ex's name (she pays it),

We want to move account into friends name or open new account, does she need a new decoder?

You need to do a transfer of ownership on that decoder.
