On the TV, the quality adjusts accordingly as you toggle through the options. On my tablet and phone, I can see no adjustments being made when I toggle to 720p and 1080p. Can any anybody else confirm if they are experiencing the same thing? I had noticed the quality of the stream lacking ever since they allowed the added stream again.

DStv stream quality seems stuck at 576p.

You don`t notice the adjustment because of the smaller screen size.
Do you have the app on a mobile device? The quality is not like it used to be I swear.

Watching the MotoGP currently on my S23 and experiencing the same. Before, few months ago, it would noticeably change between the stream quality options.
How I know that was the case, cause when you would switch from WiFi to LTE due to data usage, you'd know.
No change between 576p, 720p and 1080p.

Yes! Thank you. I had noticed the drop in quality on my mobile devices for quite some time. It's pretty shrewd of them because they seem to be getting away with it.

All the apps have the quality setting, and it goes up to 4K depending on your device. The last time they had anything broadcast in 4K was the FIFA WC in 2022 as far as I know.
The stream quality seems to be capped at 576p on mobile devices. You still get 1080p on your TV though.
if what i am getting on the stream is 1080p i need my eyes checked

They don't have the best 1080p stream in the business, but I don't mind it, it can look pretty presentable when it's upscaled by my 4K TV. The 576p stream on the tablet is poor though, it should be 720p.
Can you please go through the quality settings, does it top out at 576p on the PC? I'm sure you know the whole blinking thing it does to indicate stream quality change.
Sorry, should have mentioned - set to highest which is 1080p.

Looks even worse for the initial 10 or so seconds.
i've just checked and i have highest up to 4k
but it is really piss poor. i wouldn't even say it is 720p

Yeah, same here. On the Stream app for the Mibox, it looks kak. Looks 720p and not the claimed 1080p. When switching between the two, there is no change in definition.
I usually use a Supersport channel to test the quality.
Are you aware of that pause and play thing it does when it changes the stream quality?
Can only access 200 or 216 on this package. Main package is from "elsewhere", with no streaming for me.
I think I remember that. Hardly use streaming under my circumstances.
It does the pause and play thing to indicate an adjustment. The difference is negligible though on this 1080p TV I'm using. I'll test on the 4K later.
Some channels have a pretty shoddy signal to begin with though. I use the Supersport channels to test quality.
I'm pretty satisfied with the upscaled 4K quality. And I don't own some fancy TV either:
