Hi all, with the Rugby World Cup coming up, I wanted to watch it, but after that I'm probably not gonna care too much.

Is DSTV stream for R799 (seems to be the only one that allows Rugby) a contract thing? Where I have to pay for the year or can I cancel?

DSTV stream R699 pm. One connection. Month to month. If you cannot afford payment for next month take cheaper one until you can upgrade again.

Don't think its R699 anymore. Was checking the other day to get it just for world cup, seems R799 now.

I’ve got Compact R449 . Have it specifically for soccer. I am using the DSTV Stream app on smart Tv to watch.
It’s 1 stream at a time which works for me.
Hopefully the WC rugby will be on Compact.

You could try Compact Plus which has a few more channels for R570

I see Peacock say they streaming all the RWC games. Anybody used them successfully? Can you just use a VPN or you need US address or Credit card?

For credit card you might need a US address, but you can use PayPal or (I used this in 2021) subscribe in the Android app and pay with Google Play.

You will need a VPN.

ITVX in the UK also broadcast free. Google itvx apk. My Android TV box and stick is not compatible, but some devices or TVs are.

I cast it to Android TV

Ah man, I don't really want to pirate it. I'm too old for that finicky stuff now. But I also don't want to be locked into a 12 months contract

Control D, iPlayer, ITVX, ALL4, MY5 etc. for British content, sport on iPlayer or ITVX, for free. Peacock in USA also, has decent sport, at $6 a month. Pay Peacock via PayPal.

Smart DNS proxy also good.

Watched the Bok/Wales game on Saturday via Amazon Prime.uk using a VPN. Good audio/visual quality, no buffering. Only problem was that they did not have any commentary. So only had the usual stadium sounds and referee's comments. Also watched the Eng/Ireland game, same using Amazon.uk & VPN. On this game there was commentary though. Thinking of trying out the Peacock option for the WC.

NBC has RWC rights, NBC owns Peacock, so I am between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

Peacock no longer has a Free Tier, except for those who had it previously like myself.

Now if the RWC is on Peacock, and I pay my $6.00 a month to watch, I am going to loose my Free Tier. :(

Such is life, I suppose.

Edit:
Not guarantee how long the Free Tier grandfather'ed Tier will last before it also just falls by the wayside as well.
