DSTV surround sound issue

Hi All,

I recently bought a Onkyo AV setup with speakers. Very happy....

Anyway if im watching an SD Dstv channels I can control the sound with the DSTV remote however if I watch the HD channels or any channel with surround sound the DSTV sound control has no effect. Its very frustrating having to use the Onkyo and DSTV remote to control the sound.

Anyone else have a similar problem and any ideas for solutions?

I've given up with DSTV surround sound, I usually just switch back to the default and get much better results. I don't have a problem with the DSTV remote controlling surround sound though, although at times there's a bit of a delay between pressing the volume button on the remote before the volume actually adjusts

Yup, I have that problem..... Its pretty much because the coders multichoice employ are pretty useless... they have sweet fek all idea about usability, and such.

So now my DSTV is on full blast and volume is controlled via my amp.

I have also found that the surround soundtrack is the family soundtrack. I am old enough to hear the word **** without fainting thanks monochoice.

Just use the relay function on your DSTV remote, so your DSTV remote controls the amp volume. Works perfectly
