Hi,
Our Dual View Decoder is playing up - rebooting itself a number of times a day.
So we've finally succumbed to purchasing a new Xplora 2.
We want to use the Dual View for an extra TV we occasionally watch.
Is it easy / possible to link these together?

The other question is our current dish is a 91cm dish and the Xplora 2 box says it recommends an 81cm dish.
Will we have to replace our current dish?

Thanks.

No you don't have to replace the antenna, just the current LNB needs to be replaced.
The SD PVR (dual view) PVR can be coupled to the Explora2. The Explora must be the Primary decoder.
The best way to do this is to install a QUAD LNB plus 24-1Z MC switch. This will provide you with full functionality on both decoders.

BUT

It comes at a cost. Of the quad LNB and the switch. Plus the need for 4 cables between the LNB and the switch.

This is a lot of expense for a decoder that MC no longer supports.
The other way is to install the recommended SLNB model LMX 501 and then get a second Explora or even a 3rd one. Makes for a more future proof installation.

If I'm not mistaken each additional decoder will cost R89 per month which is typical DSTV bull.

The 3rd decoder attracts an extra R 85 per month. The current arrangement of two decoders under XV does not attract any additional charges.
