Heres my problem.
I have a DSD990 Decoder with single LNB.
I want to buy the HD PVR at Makro for R1799 (1 View / 1 Record).
I still only have a single LNB and now need to know what else i require to watch tv in tv room & 2 bedroom (3 TV's).
Also be able to control channels from the bedrooms (tvlink i think its called).
I know the DSD990 will be useless & ill need a twin LNB.
So your input is much appreciated if it can solve my problem ;)

Yup, you can sell the 990
You need a twin LNB and another cable to run from the dish to PVR. You can go the SatCR route which will only need your current cable but its more expensive
Get a TV link from Multichoice, they are the cheapest, and then cables to run the feed around the house

Would that setup allow 2 view / 1 record?
And which setup would allow 3 view / 1 record?

View 1, record 1
You can't use the DSD990 for Xtraview, you need either a 1100, 1131 or PVR

You can obviously split that 1 view to as many TVs as you like

The SatCR won't help much with an extra view unless it a twin in which case you need to run a second cable anyway.

As you said the cheaper route is a normal twin. Couple that with a multiswitch.

At op: You'll need to have a splitter on the heart beat cable for the tvlink. I.e. the rf in from the pvr, the rf out from the singleview and the cable feeding the bedroom tv need to be connected via a splitter because there needs to be a DC voltage on the heart beat cable and the second point. You can only activate a tvlink on the rf out if its set as the heart beat port.

Multichoice recommend a slx amp splitter but ellies sells a f-type T-piece splitter that will work fine and is dirt cheap.

I would get HD PVR at Makro for R1799 (1 View / 1 Record), & of course the 1100 i just got from a friend.
So from what i understand i can do a 2 view (seperate channel controls/flipping) 1 record with the above setup. Right?
Then i could split 1 of the views to the other TV which would then only be able to watch what the other is watching on that TV. Right?

Correct. With the setup I suggested you'll be able to split the sd signal to the other tvs. You'll just have to make sure you have DC voltage through to the tv with the tvlink. With multiple extra points you'll need an slx splitter on the heart beat cable and then you can use one of the T-pieces O mentioned to split to the rest of the house.

Or PM and I'll do you a good deal on a professional install.

Thanks for help, ill check out prices for stuff needed at ellies & dstv (tvlink) on monday

Too view 3 channels at once u need to get a HD PVR (the first one) and a SD PVR afaik. Otherwise u can only do 2 channels at once. And record some other. Would be quite expensive though, much easier just getting the 2 channels with splitter as suggested.

ah, don't worry about DSTV for the TV link, I see you're in PE so you don't have an actual Multichoice (only agencies), so Space TV (if you have?) or ellies will do
