DSTV Xtraview 2 DSD 1110 Decoders Settings

Can someone PLEASE PLEASE show me the Xtraview setup settings for 2X 1110 decoders before I go totally INSANE. Was working fine until my son tampered with the cables to connect a DVD player.. I've unplugged the DVD player but obviously I done something wrong as I dont get a heartbeat signal to the secondary decoder. been to MC twice but no help! So its 2 tvs, 2 decoders and an enraged Xtraview subscriber.. PLEASE HELP! maybe a diagram will help as the proposed settings by MC is totally non logical....

YA Don't blame your Son ! the DVD cables (RCA) have nothing to do with the Xtraview settings.
First of all check the back of both decoders you need to see what's plugged into the RF in / out of both decoders then follow those cable to see which ones are linking the decoders (thats the heartbeat) so eg rf in of decoder 1 is connected to rf out of decoder 2.
Then go to xtraview settings on both decoders to confirm thats what is set.
 
So the heartbeat cable should be RF IN at primary decoder and RF OUT at secondary decoder? MC recons it should be RF IN or RF OUT to both decoders??? Has the remote got anything to do with the heartbeat?

It doesn't matter as long as the port which you plugged the cable into is the port you've selected on the xtraview settings screen.
 
Do I have to reboot the decoder or do heartbeat test or is the connection automatic? (presuming I have connected the correct heartbeat cable.... :-().....)
 
Please guys have mercy and treat me like a 5 year old with step by step instructions..
 
You dont have to reboot or test. if its correctly connected a heaartbeat will be sent to the secondary every 30 seconds

I think you should ask your son to come post here :) 5 year olds now days know more then the adults

Its really simple make sure that whatever the settings in the xtraview menu match what you have in the ports.
Do you know how to check the Xtraview settings.

I also suggest you get some labels and mark where the cables go once its workings so this doesnt happen again
 
And the remote controls settings? I've got primary remote RF In; Remote 1 Respond Remote 2 Relay and secondary remote RF In; Remote 1 Ignore Remote 2 Respond...

leave that as is - thats the remote commands

ANd what does the xtraview setting son both decoders state?
 
Nope - see red heartbeat signal transmitting from primary to secondary on setup screen. Should this turn green or what?

With what degree of certainty can you tell us that you are plugging in the heartbeat cable and not the cable from the LNB?
 
Xtraview settings on both decoders = RF IN and heartbeat cables are both plugged to RF IN......
 
Ive swopped LNB and message said communication lost... So it must be the correct LNB?? Shiz - I'm that stupid????????
