I see a lot of comments from people on My Broadband complaining about DSTV The grass is not any greener on the other side of the fence Honest If one takes out Netflix and the cost of the internet what you are left with? DSTV will cost R900 If you wanted to compare Apples with Apples using US TV -: Sling ;Directv Now; Hulu Live; etc they will cost after the promotions the same All give you sport /all give various channels / all don't have all the TV series or Movies or Sport The issue maybe is that DSTV is live and you would need to use a PVR if it is not on Catchup but otherwise
Personally I find in all its different guises DSTV is not for me I have no interest in most sport and only a few TV series All of which I can watch for less than R200 per month

There's your problem. You have no interest in sport. Either cancel DSTV, or else start watching test cricket, where the patience, perseverance, and mental grit of good batsmen in trying conditions will teach you how to deal with things you have no interest in without having to make new threads about them.

DSTV via satellite and two DSTVNow logins for R809 means three households can watch sport for R270 each.

The point I made is that the people on this forum that are complaining about DSTV should think again DSTV as an all round package is competitive and I do not understand why there are so many complaints

I don't really agree with your calculations because it doesn't make sense to me that you take out the cost of internet. Most households get internet for much more than their TV needs. Most households that have DSTV Premium will also still have an internet bill.

The internet and Netflix are irrelevant to the point If you do not have the internet you would not stream anything anyway and presume would have DSTV but and again I reiterate my point that most complaints about DSTV are about costs repeats etc if like for like is what you want DSTV is very good and competitive so why is there so many people complaining

People on this forum complain about everything, nothing personal on Dstv, some complaints are valid, some are not.

The issue is that most people have the internet for various reasons, and don't want to pay another close to R1000 just for Sport, because that is really all that DSTV gives you. Assuming that you have Netflix, etc.

If you are a farmer/maplotter, and don't have decent internet, then different story, then DSTV is worth every cent.

Personally, I elected to cancel DSTV, and watch way less sport, or just watch wherever I can. Not paying R1000 for sport.

I pay for Showmax approx once every four months, just to check out a few HBO shows.

I'm pretty sure most people these days have some kind of internet connection. Everything on DSTV can be watched through other sources on the internet, like cyberflix free of charge.
For many people this is just +R809 per month which you could save and go on a nice cruise at the end of the year.

WHy are you adding the cost of internet in?

People have internet for other reasons.

I think it is restricted to 2 simultaneous streams.

Yes, two streams, and one person watching via satellite = three households. I'm assuming one of the households is only interested in live sport, so they won't need to stream movies on catchup.

As long as the decoder is not connected to the internet, else it is counted as one stream.

I occasionally fire up my DStv now app on either lappie or phone and watch a crime doc or bit of news, quite handy really and as I'm not paying for it, should I even dare complain? :giggle::whistling:
