I have read a previous posting regarding the idea of picking the channels for which you would like to register and took note of the arguments for and against this. I would totally like to eliminate all the channels I never watch if it means that I can get a streamlined TV service. I am sure this would cut my subscription by half and eliminate the frustration of having to scroll through a lot of unwanted channels just because I pay for it.

I'd be surprised if it cuts it by even 10%...

What's your question?

Exactly.
Initially I thought OP wanted help with setting up Favourite Channels, which I am sure is available on the explorer that allows you to scroll only your favourite channels and not all the others.

Then it sounded like. I use a ring road to get to work, but I only use the one lane and yet I have to pay road tax on both lanes. I think I'd cut my fuel levy in half if I could just use the one side of the road.

Sure DSTV could allow you to select channels but there is no way in hell that they would make it cheaper.
