Can anyone tell me if it is already possible to receive dtt signals in Cape Town, in particular in the Constantia area?

If so what channals are broadcasted digitally and are they still in 4:3 format or finally 16:9?

I want to watch the world cup, can't take analogue signal and its 4:3 stretching. DSTV compact is also 4:3, premium with HD with way over my budget so I am hoping for a half decent signal over dtt in 16:9...

I can't confirm whether or not the above is possible but I can absolutely assure you that it's HIGHLY unlikely that the DTT signal will be in 16:9.

Nothing before October mate , there is 2 x 5kW xmitters on Constantia , but they were only given 200W of power. So no go until someone explains to IdiotCASA they we NEED MORE POWER.....

Thanks for the replies everyone! I knew I couldn't get my hopes up :-).

i tested it in the Ysterplaat area for about a month or more and it never worked. i think the did mention Constantia but cannot remember what was said.
