Guys what is the true story about Terrestrial television in SA. An installer telling pensioners in the Worcester,Boland region that the Sabc signal will be switch off in November 2011, they then need to install toptv ,or they wont be able to watch tv. Surely this is not true.

Someone telling this to pensioners. Understand pensioners live on their soapies and stuff like that. This guy probably knows this and is making them scared. Someone should take him outside and beat the crap out of him.

Analogue will be running for a few years longer, after the digital signal is switched on. Dual illumination is what they call this period...

Who is the installer?

Just my 2 cents with regards to DTT:

Considering that almost 40 million sim cards were registered for RICA, I think that South Africans will be responsible enough to ensure that their not affected by the switch to digital. Though my thought hasn't considered that we'll need to pay for the set-top boxes as compared to RICA - which was free

shame what kind of guy tries to take advantage of pensioners
the terrestrial switch-off is still a long way off, and hen they will start broadcasting on a digital band, they will still broadcast the analogue way at the same time also then they will start selling the dvb decoders and i am sure it will be subsidised or have pensioner discounts

can you give us the name of this installer id come to worcester just to kick his ass
