i have a Asus P7P55 LX motherboard and it supports dual channel. I have 4gig OCZ 2200mhz chips in. Will it be possible if i add more memory in there, but its a different brand name and the memory modules is 1600Mhz. will the pc run stable or must i put in 2200Mhz memory in but its a other brand name.

It'll be fine to just add another 4GB of DDR3 1600. Just make sure that the voltages are the same.

If you run into stability problems, then swap the sticks around. If that didn't solve it, then you'll have to fiddle with the memory timings.

By adding a 1600MHz module, the 2200MHz module should run at the same speed and latency as the 1600MHz module.

Are you overclocking your memory and currently actually achieving 2200MHz memory speeds with that motherboard?
Typically if you just install fast memory like that they still just run at 1333MHz unless you overclocked the FSB or explicitly modified the memory multiplier.

My pc is stock standard. Dont know how to overclock the pc, so i hope the memory runs 2000mhz, but like you said, it could run that Mhz if i overclock it.

Memory will always run at the lowest speed stick thats in the pc. So....unless you are overclocking the memory it WILL run at 1600Mhz due to the lower speed memory.

Why do you even have that DDR3 2200MHz module when you're not even overclocking, which would mean it has been running at 1333MHz this whole time!?

What OS? Win 32 bit OS's won't even see all od your first 4 gigs
