Dual Core Celeron 1.6ghz or Celeron 2.8

D C is based on newer technology, but there are no dual core Celerons. The 4xx series (if you are talking about them) is based on the Conroe-L core but does not have 2 cores. The E2140 (based on the Conroe core) is dual core, running at 1.6Mhz, but is not a Celeron. The 4xx series running at 1.6 should be a bit faster than 3xx series running at 2.8, and will be a lot more overclockable.

Whell you can expect that as your core2 processor costs R1500 compared to you 3800X2 that is R650.

when i bought my e6300 the 3800+ was about the same price, then a couple weeks later amd dropped pricing

so its cheap now yes but it has not always been

Depending how much money you're talking about

For R2000 there's no doubt that Intel offers better value for money.

just have to remember to take the higher price of the intel motherboards into consideration

In October 2006 my cost on the 6300 was R 1 795 (these are dealer prices), the x2 3800+ was R 1 305 and the x2 4200 was R 1 670.

I dont know when u bought your 6300, but the point remains that we are living in the here and now, and we should make comparisons according to that.

The e6320 is currently about R 400 more expensive that a x2 5000+, and the x2 5000+ will definitely kick the e6320's ass.

Don't you think it is a good idea for products to come down in price when something newer is released, isn't that what we all want anyway, for one of the two companies to come out with a faster product, and then push the previous king to cheaper levels, making it affordable for everyone.
