I have managed to get my PC to show both monitors but i now want to get the monitors to have Dual view ie each monitor will have its own resolution and refresh rate I am using MSI GE Force 9500 and have connected the alternate monitor as per suggestion via DVI converter it worked marvelously now i just want to be able to have two independant monitors is this possible ps i only have one graphics card and have no intention of purchasing a second so if you can help it would be kindly appreciated

Afik, you just select monitor 1 or monitor 2 and make your adjustments. I haven't done this for a good couple of years.

Assuming you're using Windows...
Right-click on the desktop -> properties
Go to the last tab where your screen resolution is.
Click on your main screen and set it to "this is my main screen"
Click on your second screen and set it to "extend to this screen", make sure that "main" is not enabled on this one.

You need to restart your pc with both monitors plugged in. Then right click on the desktop -> NVIDIA Control Panel -> Setup Multiple Displays
...and look for something along the lines of "Dual View"
