Dual PPPOE on ADSL modem

Hi,

I am sure this has been asked before somewhere on these forums but I am looking for a device (not Linux/UNIX/Cisco) that can initiate dual PPPOE session over 1 ADSL port.

I am hoping for something that is well priced that I can buy locally if possible.

We are doing a lot of online backup and would like to use one account for the online backup and the other account for normal internet usage, so I would just add a static route to the interface of the online backup account and default gateway will be for all other traffic.

Your advise would be much appreciated. Thanks

The Telkom Mega100WR2 is able to have 2 concurrent PPPoE connections open - see http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost.php?p=1098351&postcount=52 for splitting International & Local traffic.

Otherwise you can use a broadband (not ADSL) router that is supported by DD-WRT 3rd party firmware in conjunction with your existing ADSL router. The same principle of splitting international & local traffic can be applied here (like you've mentioned) to split the backup traffic from the normal Internet usage

Otherwise if you're only doing backups from one central PC, you can create the PPPoE connection from that PC only and add a persistent static route to PPPoE interface for the online backup. This method requires you to have your ADSL router already setup in half-bridge mode (bridge mode + 1 PPPoE connection for normal Internet usage).
