I have two phones that I use regularly: The Nokia E71 for most of the time; and an N82 in the evenings and weekends, as it has a MUCH better camera and is slightly smaller.

However, I have to do an entire sim swop every time I change phones, which is a pain in the naught. I know Vodacom used to offer a dual sim solution, where you could get two simcards with the same number. Whichever phone was switched on last is the active one.

Does MTN offer something similar? I phone their customer service, but the operator didn't know / couldn't tell me :(

I'll pop into an MTN store later today, but I was wonder if any of you gurus might know the answer off-hand?

they have dual call for cars.. call 1555... 808 consultants are useless

Try get one of those 16 in 1 or 32 in 1 magic sim off bid or buy or ebay, will let you copy multiple numbers on one sim, but you can only use one at a time.

Okay, so I've gone to see the guys at my local MTN shop, and they tell me that it IS possible to get a dual sim on MTN. But, wait for it...

I have to bring my car registration details, and my ID book into the store. This is becasue apparently the car simcard differs from a normal cellphone card, and only works in the car. How can this be?
