Dubious Usage Stats

I recently got my adsl line and noticed i was going through my cap at an alarming rate according to telkom's usage graphs. So i got NetMeter and according to that NetMeter using about half of what telkom says im using. Any ideas about whats happening here?

Might be bandwidth theft. There is a sticky about possible steps to take in such an event. Maybe you should just monitor it for a while more before you suspect the worst. If you have multiple PCs using the same Internet connection shared, just check them all for any software that might be downloading. It might also be possible that the bandwidth meter you are using is perhaps not set up correctly? Telkom might be in the wrong as well of course, but determining that might be a bit more complex...Other than that, I can't really think of much. Sorry. I am sure others might offer you some advice as well. Stick around.
