Duke Nukem Forever DELAYED

I went through most of primary school, high school and have nearly finished university in the time this game has been in development.

I finished high school, university, and lived in the UK for 3 years and its still not out.

Played through DN3D with the HRP pack recently, it still rocks.

It couldn't run on a 286. I had a 486SX at the time and it could barely run it, the optimal pc was a 486DX4.

LOL. I remember my buddy coming to my house and play it on my 486DX2-50 (Cyrix). He had to reduce the screen to the size of a postage stamp to get a playable framerate. I refused to play it until I got a Pentium 150. By that time I was more happy playing Quake which still struggled on the pentium.

Yeah I remember it barely ran on my 486DX2-66. We had to turn everything to the lowest settings, and even then, the final boss fight was unplayable. When we got our Pentium 200MMX, it was a different story.

I can still remeber the Duke's famous 1 liners....
"Shake it baby"
"You wanna dance"
"Its time to kick a** & chew bubblegum"

Tried to play the original again on my laptop during lunch - graphics - man how I'm not blind after laying that I don't know.

Remember the game being legend though..........

Get the HRP update with the polymost renderer, massive improvement.

Download the one that says its the Polymer renderer. The Polymost renderer was the first 3D accelerated DN3D engine, but its been updated a lot so it supports HD resolutions, high res textures, etc etc. Looks much better. The Polymer render adds really advanced features that make the game run too slowly on my 5770. Its playable, but framerates are too low for my liking. I think Polymer does some sort of dynamic lighting and light blending, you'll see what I mean.

EDIT: Get the Polymer renderer one because its easy to just turn the polymer renderer off and go back to the polymost renderer, so you can experiment and see which one you prefer.

Some of the most fun I ever had was playing D3D game, especially multiplayer. I can live with waiting another month after having waited so long already for DNF, but I hope it's not delayed any further after this.

One month until the biggest fizzle in gaming since Daikatana

john romero is trebling with anticipation like you are although for a different reason lol

Pfff... I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Duke Nukem Forever is basically Duke 3D in non-pixellated graphics then I'll be pleased as punch.

Now stfu and let's rock!

So looking forward to this game. Played the original on my ery first computer. A Pentium 133 (i think) with 16 MB of RAM
Unfortunately I agree with this:
