Hi,

Is there a way to dump the contents of a simcard to PC?

I know one can sync with Outlook etc, but what I need is a straight backup dump and restore on the day of need to new SIM-card functionality.

Thanks

You can use a sim card backup tool, but these things only backup your contacts, kind of like these.

I have enough gadgets filling up cupboards.

I want to dump my SIM card to my USB Flash memory... straight from my phone.

As far as I know the SIM card only takes the PIN no's and the contacts anyway. But have your phone part from you by crime and note the dissaster of loosing those numbers...

Well there could be a way, look at your phone manufacturers website, they should have software which you could use to connect the phone to the pc, the software can be used to make a backup and you can save it to a file. I know nokia pc suite works this way.

If you have a Mac, iSync (which comes standard with it) will automatically synchronise (backup) all your contacts/numbers and calendar. This can all be done via bluetooth (which almost every phone has, and which all modern Macs have) or vie the USB cable your phone came with

If you have a Windows machine, I'm sure there is something similar. You can probably do a search for an iSync equivilent for Windows
