Ok, I signed up for Axxess on Saturday morning and my Telkom Cap I managed to hammer into the ground before logging in (think I squeezed over 10gig outta the damn thing :D )

Anyhoo, I've been told it takes 3 days to cancel the Telkom ISP account, but is there anything else I should know - anyone had any issues and still been charged ?

Is the ISP portion paid for a month in advance or for the past month ?

I'm going to go into one of the shops to cancel, as I really don't trust doing it over the phone - I'm going to get whoever helps me to date and sign a statement.

Yup - make sure you hold onto a copy of the cancellation. I was billed for months after cancelling, and eventually had to take it all the way to Sharon Horton. I'm still waiting for an account reflecting the reversals and a zero balance. Their incompetence holds no bounds...

I'm still fighting. After cancelling it 2 times over the phone I went to the local Telkom shop. The added bonus is you can debate for 30 minnutes with a Telkom employee (well worth the drive).

I don't like the sound of this !

I'll have to try my usual trick to pre-empt problems.

1. Cancel it, get cancellation signed in triplicate in blood
2. Phone the next morning to find out whether my ISP account has been cancelled
3. Phone the morning after that to find out whether my ISP account has been cancelled
4. Return to the Telkom shop that afternoon to find out whether my ISP account has been cancelled.
5. Pray

You missed a few points between 4 and 5:

5. Rant at manager of Telkom shop, demand to break windows, knee caps, etc. if account is not cancelled.
6. Visit shrink (again).

Ah yes, I forgot those :D

I will be visiting this very afternoon - the thought of standing in a queue of 10 people being served by 1 person who hates their job is already making me quiver with excitement !

Spent an hour in the Telkom shop, but glad I did.
The workers at the counters have the authourity to update your billing right there and then.

The ISP portion is paid upfront, but I still need to pay the full amount this month because the bill has already gone through - I haggled about this for a bit, but it was a waste of time - it'll be credited on my next bill.

Got a bunch of printouts, but unfortunately not a signature in blood. I asked if they could give me print-outs in red as an alternative, but they've only got black ink.

I'm still expecting trouble though ... it was easy, too easy ...

Hmm, keep the garlic, wooden stake and cross close by.

Also If you can get a vial of blood from the rep for the purpose of voodoo it'll be even better.

last month I was billed twice for my 3GB ISP from telkom so I went to the shop and shot my mouth of @ them and they said that it was duplicated and that they would correct it and refund me. So I said fine and that was that...

Today I got my next bill and guess what, duplicated again!
so this afternoon I am going to telkom to cancel everything and will be moving to axxess...

cant wait
