Got this game in Singapore and after playing this for like 7 hours total, I almost fell asleep. Oh no doubt the graphics is pretty spectacular compared to diablo, but nontheless, it's still a ripoff from Diablo. It's just plane hack and slash. I haven't tried net play yet, but if it is the same as the single player, I don't see any benefit from playing more.

Anyone played this game and what are your thoughts?

Im busy playing it. Ive been playing for around 20 hours now and I must say I am still enjoying it. Yes its not the best, but it is at least better than half the other games coming out now. During this year I have played some of the most shocking games ever and that makes me truly appreciate games that have been made with a little bit of effort.

Mmmm - loved the first one and played it to death, but have no interest in DS2. I'm loving Guild Wars at the moment - reminds me of DS, but way better in every way!

yeah, minus all the actual rpg elements that are in their that diablo didn't have.
Diablo is hack and slash. This is RPG, closer to a rip off neverwinter nights. in any respect it's enjoyable, the story has a nice pacing and so far (I've just completed the Azunite Vault mission) and there are a lot of little touches (like the Z key, aahhh the Z key) that make life great.

If it being a rip off bothers you so much, I guess my ignorance will not sway you from your game time with pong, castle wolfenstein, kings quest 1 and test drive.

lol... DS2 is a decent hack & slash which does offer good fun, until Oblivion hits us in December i dont see many RPG's in the horizon ( other than WoW and GW ) which can thrill SA players...

I'm still thinking of playing DS1 LOA. Anyone think its worthwhile? I don't have DS2, what does the z key do?

Basically orders your squad to collect all the items on the ground automatically. So instead of having to click on each item one at a time, you click z and your squad speads out and picks up everything.

Was enjoying it until i "upgraded" to a Geforce FX 5500, the frame rate dropped to about 8-12 fps destroying the experience for me.

Hehe, had a Geforce 4 MMX 440 and it ran sweetly. Had R600 to splash and thought it could only be an improvement, i was wrong.

Crap game. .........just for the simple fact that just after i finished veteran. and go over to elite. my bloody game decides my lvl71 combat mage may no longer play and everytime i select his party the game crashes :(

Now i'm sitting in town with a new cm at lvl4 thinking is this really worth it?

hehe...yea, I've just finished the Azunite Vault mission too. Although the storyline ain't too bad so far, I wish there was quick slots for different skills. Really would make the game play much faster....or just find myself a gf! I need a life....zzzz

Yeah, individual quick slots would be good. You can use the F5-F8 keys (i think those are them) to switch, but that switch effects everyone in the group who can switch. Annoying when you want one character to stop using spells and start bashing things. Only way I found to do it without a major penalty is pause, manual switch, unpause. Having a gf doesn't help, my gf spent 6 hours this weekend watching (and encouraging) me play ;)

reduce the SHADERS quality to SIMPLE or LOW... your old MX440 was DX8 compliant and thus didnt have to use PS2.0++, but not that you have a DX9 compliant card it makes use of such shaders but it doesnt have enough raw power to give you good frame rates.

give it a try as DS2 is quite Pixel Shader intensive with all its FX in spells and combat. ;)

Thanks useless, will give it a bash.

I disabled the Vertical Sync last night and it seemed to be running a bit smoother.

Other than that i've been enjoying it quite a bit. Just need to find the time to play some more.

the game is great..... I don't know wats wrong with you people .......
They took most of the great things from diablo and combined it with other good elements. The main thing thats different from diablo is the intensity of the story... but the story is still decent and enjoyable. im lv 50 combat mage :)

i will play it online with buddies over the weekend... cant wait... that is if i am sober after the JHB Day concert.... :D

DS2 Rulez Bigtime.....u might find that i'm a bit weird...but i don't really like the whole having party members blah blah...like in Diablo...u are ALONE and all level ups go to u....and the party thing sometime gets confuzing....now u may ask how the hell do i like DS2 then....simple....buy a couple of pets.....and have a few resurrection scrolls handy...simple....the higher level u go....the higher level they'll go... :) hectic
