Okay...

My friend has a P4 3ghz, 1Gb Ram, 9600XT and when he runs DS2 he gets a average of about 80FPS fixed

Well...here by me i've got a AMD 64 3000+, 512MB Ram, 6600GT and I get a average of about 45FPS and sometimes even drop to 32FPS...Help

reduce the shaders from advanced to either simple or low... your friends 9600XT doesnt use PS3.0 like your 6600GT does, thus he has more performance out of the game.

really?!?!?!?

how do the other games play on that PC? good performance?

Diabling Vertical Sync also helped me a push out a few more frames in the DS Series.

to be honest... 32FPS... is it that noticeable within the game? its a hack&slash... but what resolutions are you running it on as well?

okay my benchmarks is up to standard....doom 3 = 97FPS in Timedemo

i'm running the game @ 1024x768 no blending or shadows

Disabled Vsync in Nvidia properties ....and nope no difference..

When moving the camera or running around in forest or..em...teleporting...the game seems to stutter....

in caves i get about 80FPS but in Forest or in Town ...nah 30-45Fps

Sucks....

what nvidia drivers you using?

and what soundcard you got btw?

nice to c that u ppl reply so quickly.... :)

Nvidia 81.85

Realtek AC97 Integrated Audio (Latest Drivers)

Windows XP SP2

and I have installed the latest Patch for the Game

yikes... i am running out of what to suggest over here... what kind of settings did you put under your NVidia control panel - ie. High Performance, Performance, Quality, High Quality?

and funs sake, you got any games which run with DirectX to test? DOOM 3 is an OpenGl game, thus the request.

lol....hehe

Ya...3DMark 03 = 8553

and LOTR middle earth works fine

err...NVidia properties set to Quality but Performance makes no difference

*slumps*

just curious - if you set the THREADING PRIORITY in DS2 to high, does it still play slow?

let me google this at home tonight... cant google gaming sites via work atm...

THREADING PRIORITY??

there's a raise app priority...and yes it's enabled (lol) and no is does not make a difference....

hmmmm.....

good luck with google...been there, only the pointless Microsoft Support crap...nothing there that works

will look it up... cant think of anything else right now... :(

read this thread... talks about your problem a LOT!

i suppose perhaps report it to M$ and hopefully wait for some kind of support? yeah right... :p

Drop your res to 800x600x16
To do this go into your root dir. and use the DSVC file.
