Durban is dead again

Cape Town down

ditto for Cape Town - we were off most of yesterday (Sunday) as well:(

Just called them

I just called Sentech. There entire network is down. They are working on the problem but there is no ETA on when it will be up

On their site, they say "serious outage" - not where (possibly whole country), or ETA. :(

*sigh* That sucks so much but at least I suppose that it is helping me not to use up my whole cap :)

I complained again, sending a fax to the CEO Mr Frans Lindeque. The response - my service will be terminated since I am complaining - will post their letter here for all to see when it arrives. BTW I complained when the service was disconnected on 1 January, 1 April and in each instance was credited after telling them I will get the money back in the Small Claims Court - so this is a line worth pursuing, but then they will threaten you with disconnection.

Send Mr Lindeque a fax - 0116917127 and 011691711/8

And read the article in Noseweek

That is absolutely shocking! No wonder they are so far behind everyone when it comes to subscriber numbers. Jeez. I didn't think that they had that many customers that they could start disconnecting people for complaining!

Well I have had no internet since Mid day on Thursday!!!!! A combination of the outages in Durban ( in particular) and nationwide, and then not being able to get into my internet at all cos ( we only ascertained this for certain this morning after many calls to Nowire and much angst!) some muppet had reset my password.

This morning takes the cake! After Mark assuring me on Thursday and Ettienne assuring me on both Friday and Saturday that my account was active but that there was a problem in Durban so I should keep trying (which I did the whole weekend...) I phoned this morning and got through to Lee-Anne. She too assured me that I was active and then asked if I was putting in the right user name and password, confirming for me that my user name and pasword were the same. (As they are when you first purchase MyWireless) No I say to her ... they cannot be the same cos I altered my password shortly after purchasing my contract in March last year. Well says Lee-Anne they are the same and only you could have changed them. To prove a point she goes into my account briefly and says to me "I can see you are over quota".

This disturbed me as I was away the whole Easter weekend and then did not have access from Thursday last week onward. Anyhow, she assures me that using the same name for user and password will get me in!

So off I go and dutifully try to connect to no avail! Eventually I phone NoWire back and get Ettienne on the line. I explain the whole conversation with Lee-Anne to him and he says: "Well I do not know why she would have told you to go ahead and try that to connect because Sentech is down nationally at the moment and we have no idea when they will be up!

I eventually connected tonight and yes Le-Anne was right about one thing. Some Moegoe had reset my password, and it sure as hell wasn't me who did it!. What the heck is the use of a password, if they can reset it at will. And to what purpose would they want to reset it other than say maybe to pinch my airtime?

The other point is where she got the idea that I was over quota!!! I have only used 324 megs so far this month!

I dunno, the whole episode has just left me feeling so frustrated!

My connection has been erratic at best since Sunday. It will suddenly die in the middle of a download and will be so bad that I can't connect to any sites etc.
