I am headed to KZN for a weekend in May. Are there areas still to be avoided due to flood-damaged infrastructure?

Am considering Durban golden mile or Umdloti or Zimbali.

Thanks. Are the other two mentioned areas OK?
I haven't heard much about Zimbali but know that major roads are damaged a long the north coast, so that would impact traffic. Personally I'd avoid the beachfront at the best of times.

Beachfront meaning the Dbn golden mile in this case?

Not sure where is good to stay, in that case. Any recommendations?

Musgrave and surrounds were not damaged by the floods. They have water 100% without issues.

Then I'd tend more towards Umhlanga/La Lucia than Umdloti/Zimbali and further North.

You could also look at North Beach etc, but they're not as nice of Umhlanga/La Lucia.
South Coast areas aren't bad per se, but just a different class of people and different vibe in general.

True. But the sea is just there

So bloody predictable.... may as well just buy a place in that new development in Midrand with a fake "sea".. it will serve the same job for you... though the bunny's will be shyte up there.
