Durban pensioners strangled

A Durban pensioner was strangled with a piece of wire and his wife with the tubes from her oxygen tank, the Witness newspaper reported on Friday.

The couple's house, in the Shongweni valley on the outskirts of Durban, was ransacked and their car stolen.

A neighbour found John Noble, 72, and his wife Hester, 68.

"She was killed with her own life support and then they emptied all the cupboards on top of her," neighbour Dave Leslie was quoted as saying.

"They didn't kill them. They tortured them. They beat the hell out of them. They were no threat," he said.

Police spokesman Captain Thulane Zwane confirmed the murders, telling Sapa that police generally only issued statements on crimes where there had been an arrest or a police success, or if there was an inquiry.

The neighbours said they heard the couple’s two dogs barking on Wednesday night at around 21:00. However, they did not think much of it because the neighbourhood dogs were always barking at stray cattle in the area.

This is where CPF radios come in useful or at least having each other numbers and if you hear something funny just phone and make sure, better safe than sorry.

I getting sick of this criminal invested country. Hope this crims die some horrible death. There is no excuse for these types of crimes.

I am totally with the police on this! They have my full support!

Just imagine if they reported all murders by simply listing headings - without articles - and our daily newspapers may become 100 pages long. With articles they will be unable to be carried by the normal individual.

I keep articles like this in mind for when I catch one of these ****ers in my house or yard. I have a nice axe in my garage which I'm going to use to cut him into pieces, toss them into a hole and fill it with Sulfuric Acid. I'm waiting for you little ****ers, you must bring and come. I want to see your skinny little frame beg for mercy before I cut your head off.
