What is the speed of the 3G / HSDPA on offer in Durban with Vodacom?

What is the best route to go when going with wireless in durban?

Thanks

I'm in Westville and we get blazing fast HSDPA - but it is sometimes flaky, the connection drops and other times just doesn't work.

I've used it around Durban (from Hillcrest to central, from Queensburgh to Umhlanga) & have always got good speeds, only time I've had to settle for GPRS was in outer PMB & Bulwer

I am in Bellair on an N73 3G connection. My download speed is around 330 kbps and upload is around 50 kbps. Quite good I think. At my office in North Beach I am on ADSL, but if I need to link via my N73 if the ISP is down, then it is usually only GPRS. However, as you may have experienced yourself or picked up from other forumites, the service has been very patchy from this past weekend. This evening has been particularly bad. Have had long stretches of no connection. Apparently this is to do with maintenance/upgrades etc, so should not be permanent. If you travel a lot, a phone with 3G access is probably sufficient, because HSDPA is not very widespread yet. Although a phone with HSDPA capability such as the N95 is very nice! Otherwise, if you mainly access the internet via your computer, then an HSDPA card would probably be best.
