I am looking for a DVB-H headset to enable my Nokia E6 to receive the DSTV Mobile signal. However, the retailers out there are completely mad with their prices (If you eventually manage to find one!). This past weekend I saw one for R751 at a Vodacom shop in The Glen shopping centre. All the other shops, (Increddible Connection, Hi-Fi Corp, MTN and CNA) that I approached looked at me as if I did not know what I was talking about. They never heard of something like this. Anyone know where I can get hold of one at a reasonable price? I do not want to pay more for the headset than the DSTV Drifta itself.

I'm confused. The DVB-H receiver is in the headset?
Taken from the DSTV Mobile website:
What do I need to access the DStv Mobile service with my cellphone? Once you have the application downloaded on your cellphone, you will need the DVB-H headsets which acts as an antenna for the phone. Mobile TV will not work with any headset and you will not be able to access the DStv Mobile service through your Nokia E6 Mobile TV Application without the DVB-H headsets.

I got mine for R621 from Nokia Woodmead. Cheapest I could find 3 months ago. Also saw DSTV advertising it for R499, but have not seen any place with stock. Also the R/$ going past R8 is not helping now.

I like the headset (google nokia dvb-h) since it is easy to carry around, you only have to charge your phone (no secondary device to carry around) and you can surf/download in the background via WiFi.

Nice to have a screen with you... But unlike the Drifta you cannot "share" it on any other device (PC, iPod, iPad) etc. You win some, you lose some. I have the E7 and unfortunately it only charges via USB (which is occpied by the DVB-H headset), but opening the keyboard does give a nice angle to watch sitting on my desk). Not sure if you have to do the same on the drifta, but with the nokia Mobile TV app, you have to "resubscribe" every 30 days...

Thanks. I learn something new everyday.

R499 from Take2, add postage I think on top of that unless you in CT and can go pick it up.

Notice in the pic how it uses mini-usb plug instead of the normal headset plug. I am also interested in getting this for my N8, R36/month is even cheaper than the drifta, and you can connect it to the TV with HDMI on the N8, which I think even though its low bitrate, will still look better than the Drifta which you need a magnifier to get fullscreen.

On a PC yes, the app doesn't have native full screen but IMO the res is too low for full screen in any case although some people say it's watchable.

I agree - it really doesn't look good even when stretched to fill a 17" screen.

R36/month same price a drifta...

HDMI output (as well as Video out via earphones) disabled when using the Mobile TV app on the nokia.

This is a small screen / mobile experience. Live with it (320x240 pixels cannot be stretched to nicely fill a larger screen)...
