It is working country wide if you have a decoder or smart tv with built in decoder. SABC and ETV channels in HD with EPG. The old analogue switch off and completion of the dvb-t2 subsidised decoder hand out has been delayed since 2011 though

I think the first deadline was back in 2009 or something. But yes, in Table View here I have perfect DVB-T2 signal.

These are the channels that get picked up currently:

Access to STBs (which are required IF you want to access the DVB-T2 service) commercially is still a problem for those with older analogue TVs. However, now that many digital TVs are available with built-in DVB T2 tuners, that is not a limiting factor anymore. So, if you are prepared to replace your TV, then make sure the one you buy has a DVB-T2 tuner built-in.
The only people that would require an STB are those living in an area not covered by the terrestrial network and have to get the signal via satellite.

Thank you for the info guys, I appreciate it. The reason I was asking is that I bought a DVB-T2 stick (Mygica T230) while back from TakeALot and it still doesn't pick up any signal.

The dangers of buying blind on the internet.
Have you tried it with an external antenna?

Stupid questions from a noob. I recently got a cheap DVB-T2 receiver. Will it work if I use an out door FM antenna? Or will I need to get a UHF one?

Will give feedback soon as I can. My dad fitted this FM antenna for the hi-fi at our holiday house and I want to put in a splitter and feed the signal to my cheap DVB-T2 box.

Just did a rescan on my Amonet box, now getting Cape Town TV on 331, seems to be using the same multiplex as the SABC channels. Things move slowly in the T2 realm.
Picture and audio reminiscent of music videos downloaded off Kazaa 20 years ago.

Added a cheap UHF antenna on the same pole and have much better and more stable reception. Despite the FM antenna being in front of the UHF antenna. I checked the polarity and accordingly installed it horizontally.

Nice work. Do you maybe have a copy of that frequency list for me? Lost my copy years ago and can't find it anywhere.
