Hi ...

I'm trying to backup a few of my DVDs but have no idea how to do it ! I've asked and people mention names such as DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter - but I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing with these. There's also various steps which I'm not certain of.

Could someone tell me step by step how to go about writing a DVD backup, so that it'll play on my home DVD machine ?

I have been using this without fail for the past year or so ...

ripit4me

go to ripit4me.org and read the procedure.... it looks complicated but isn't ... trust me .... use the deffault settings, and rip away ....

just make sure that you have dvd decrypter and dvd shrink and fixvts installed .... they are all on the ripit4me site....

works with all sony and disney protection..... sometimes on my DVD player I have to burn only the movie and not th extras for it to play (the dvd shrink step).

sdd

just that u know I use this solely for backing up all the movies that I buy for my sons so that they do not bugger the originals ... personally I don't subscribe to piracy

Sounds familiar - I take it one step further and encode them to hdd - no slot's for the rug rat to foul up. :)
