dvd drive not reading

hi people,

hope sum1 can help me,my hp laptop just stop playing dvds,it always use play them,as well as media,software e.t.c
the only thing it plays is the originals,its not the region code coz it was never changed,
it reads it as a blank disc,or the entire dvd drive dissappears of the screen!!
reeally frustrated,

yep checked,no virus,
i formatted it too..
still the same..
