DVD Maker vs TV Tuner

Hi guys ,the usb on my digital camera is not workin and a repair wil cost about R800 so my next option is either getting a dvd maker or tv tuner roughly R500. I would like to know which would be the better option in terms of quality n features. They both cost about the same price so leaning towards the tv tuner because for obvious reason ,the tv tuner part, but wil a tv tuner be able to capture sound as wel? My camera supports tv out and the tv tuner has an option for tv in but will this be able to record sound as well?
